Always Read The IPod Instruction ManualWhen you're trying to decide which of the iPods that Apple makes are appropriate to you, nano apple iPods are a good low-priced level iPod. It's not as expensive as an iPod touch, for example. The first thing you should do, which few people do except me, is read (or at least skim over) the apple iPod instruction manual. Most appliances, or electronic gadgets, or any other kind of electronic thing that's being manufactured now-a-days don't come with a printed instruction manual; so, what I do is I will create a folder on my C:\ drive in the same folder as was created when the software was installed for that unit called "Instruction Manual". Then, I'll copy over the instruction manual that came with the device (generally on the install CD they gave in the package). If you want to find where it is on the CD, search for PDF and point your search to the drive where the CD is. Almost always, the instruction manual is in PDF format (Adobe Acrobat's designation). Then, I'll put a icon on my desktop which points to it in a folder called 'Instruction Manuals' so I can easily access every instruction manual for every device I own (and I own a lot of toys).
Particuarly if you're going to choose one of the lesser-known nano apple iPods, such as the nano zune, you should first consult the manual. Most of the time, all of the features that iPods will give you can't be understood unless you see what the secret is, and the manual is what gives you those secrets. People always wonder why I seem to know everything about everything. Much of the reason that I know how to do more is, I READ INSTRUCTION MANUALS. I don't know why people think that they can get by without reading them. Just because a Nano is small does not mean it isn't an entire computer in its own right. Nothing beats nano apple iPods; but you can't know how to use them unless you read the manual. I bought a really cheap RCA MP3 player, and even reading the manual didn't help. At least Apple makes manuals which have all the features detailed if you choose to actually open up the PDF file. The RCA MP3 player manual failed to tell me that you had to remove the batteries before you could access the menus which allowed you to change between modes such as playing MP3 files or listening to the radio. I had bought the unit because of that exact purpose; but it took me forever to figure out that you had to remove the batteries before it would revert to that menu. What an annoying thing to leave out of a manual. Nano apple iPods have good instruction manuals, though. If you just purchased an iPod shuffle, for example, and then lost the CD that installed the iTunes software¡ just go to Apple's website. There, you'll be able to download every manual for every iPod they've ever made. Whenever you need any instruction manual for any conceivable thing on anybody's website, you generally go their main web page and find where it says, "Support". |
